The Power Service offers a service in Portable Appliance Testing (or PAT testing). We employ only fully trained competent engineers, using calibrated testing equipment. The Power Service has full liability insurance. 

It is law to provide a safe electrical environment for your staff and visitors by including PAT-testing - failure to comply under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 can result in penalties of £20,000 and/or up to 6 months imprisonment.  Crown Courts can impose unlimited fines and imprisonment of up to 2 years . PAT testing is essential!

The Government stresses the need for PAT testing in the new 'Fire Safety Risk Assessment - Offices and Shops' which states among other references to electrics:

'If portable electrical equipment is used, including items brought into a workplace by staff, then your fire risk assessment should ensure that it is visually inspected and undergoes portable appliance testing ('PAT') at intervals suitable for the type of equipment and its frequency of use (refer to HSE guidance).'
